An Alaskan Fishing Company

This one is near and dear to my heart, my very first project. JJ found me while I was still in the beginning phases of learning about websites. I set this up for him so that he could branch out and start his own business. Several months after launch, I had learned a bit about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and went back and optimized his site. Based on those three hours of combing and optimizing, his site remains relevant in google searches despite the overwhelming number of competitors he faces in that region. This was my first exposure to helping a startup turn into a small business and legitimizing them with an online presence. Check out JJ’s comments about working with me on my testimonials page.

Hand-made Jewelry eCommerce

I stretched my CSS boundaries on this site with faded and unfaded hovers and image replace, giving the site it’s soft yet interactive feel. The eCommerce portion involved setting up variable products with different pricing for different factors, as well as PayPal integration. I also integrated the SSL certificate.

Paleo Blog and Nutrition Coaching

Using Gravity Forms, I was able to customize a newsletter signup form in the header and hookup the backend to her MailChimp account. Along with hooking up the different blog pages and setting up the contact form, I recently overhauled this site to a new hosting provider, given speed issues and outdated PHP from her previous provider. I had to test all the plugins because UI (User Interface) was wonky in the admin area, and the site speed was very slow. I was able to find the culprit, speed the site load by more than 20 seconds in most browsers, and help her improve her search engine ranking by doing so.
